Did We Mention a Contest?? How About Two?

Brainstorming Song of the Day: "Find Your Love" by Drake (check it out on our PLAYLIST--sidebar)

So, we've been dropping hints all week. Not only have we finally passed 50 followers on this blog, but my cousin Quita and I have joined forces and we feel invincible...err, I mean, charitable. To celebrate this mini-monumental week, we're holding a contest which will result in THREE winners.

Here are the deets:

YA literature has given us some dynamic duos. Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan, the upcoming Liar Society by Lisa and Laura Roecker, and The Best D*** YA Novel of All-Time by Pamela Harris and Marquita Hockaday. Okay, that last one is a bit of a stretch.

We want to know: if you could collaborate with any author, who would it be and why?

To enter, leave your response in the comments below. The most creative/humorous/sentimental ones will be chosen. However, you MUST be a FOLLOWER (that's right, we want to own your souls. Or at least some of your undivided attention). Also, you get extra bonus points if you blog/tweet about this contest (you don't have to, but we'll love you forever if you do).

So, what do you win?

Third Place: $10 gift card to iTunes
Second Place: $10 gift card to iTunes and $15 gift card to Amazon
First Place: $10 gift card to iTunes, $15 gift card to Amazon, and an Intro to YA Collection featuring these pinnacle books:

Looking for Alaska by John Green

Crank by Ellen Hopkins

Something, Maybe by Elizabeth Scott

Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

Pretty cool, right? You have until Wednesday, June 9th at 12 AM EST to enter. We will announce the winners on Friday, June 11th. Sad to say, we can only ship these items to US residents. :(

Wait, I have another contest to mention! Michelle Hodkin, who just scored a mega-book deal, is giving away ARCs of Matched, Beautiful Darkness, and The DUFF (can't wait for this one!). Click here for the deets.

What are you waiting for? Enter. Win swag. We're excited to read your entries. :)

I'd want to collaborate with Janet Evanovich, because her over-the-top humor is probably the greatest influence on my writing. I mean come on, what's funnier than a grandma who carries a gun in her purse? ;)

I think my fantasy co-author would have to be Becca Fitzpatrick (Hush,Hush)...her writing and characterization is awesome, and I think Patch is one of the sexiest characters ever created!

And thanks for this outstanding contest! I blogged here! http://jmanni32.blogspot.com/2010/06/super-awesome-giveaway.html

So, I tweeted. ;) http://twitter.com/blulpstksamurai/status/15325937470
And I added you to the contest list on mah blog. ;) ;)
And I'm a follower. ;) ;) ;)

And if I could collaborate with anyone, you bet your ass it would be Shakespeare. That dude wrote timeless themes in a contemporary style so perfectly that we still enjoy him today, his humor ranges from cheeky to slapstick to sometimes sexual (heehee), and he could introduce me to Anne Hathaway.

So when do I get my books? :D

Oh I linked on my blog too, on the sidebar ;)

I love so many YA authors that it's would be hard to choice. Courtney Summers. Sarah Dessen. Richelle Mead. Jay Asher. Simone Elkeles.

PS I'm in Canada, so don't count me in your contest.

Collaboration? It's a close tie with Maggie Stiefvater (I just love Sam - who wouldn't want to write a character like him??) and Suzanne Collins (because she creates the most irresistible love triangles ever).

Ooo!! I would have loved to collaborate with Douglas Adams, author of THE HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY. His early demise was unfortunate, and the world lost a comic worth celebrating. I really enjoy reading his witty, random humor, and I think it would have been super fun to write with him.

Oh, and I posted a link to your awesome contest in my sidebar. *Crossing my fingers* And don't forget to check out my own contest here

Who would I collaborate with? I'm going to decide they should still be alive or I'd never be able to pick, lol. I think I'd choose Meg Cabot. Of course, I've been reading a lot of her books lately since I found her via the Airhead series. I think she's a little more light-hearted than me and so combining would be awesome. Plus, she has some wonderfully fun ideas & I'd love to get in on those. ; )

Thanks for the contest.

I'd want to collaborate with Charlaine Harris because I adore her character Eric and I have a small idea for a short story. Follower!

JOHN GREEN! Oh, without a doubt, John Green. Oh man, I could learn so much from working with such a talented writer. And I have a minor (<-- understatement of the year) crush on John Green, and we all know how you always try to make your crush your lab partner or group member in school so he can see how witty and charming you are.

Suzanne Collins, period:D
I love that she can write about a kick ass heroine, we all need to read about someone strong for a change. She can also write a great love story, well, it's not really a "big, big love", but it is sweet and very natural, realistic, which is what I'm looking for in "love stories". And most of all, she can create a wonderful, alternate world we just want to read more and more about!

I'm surprised no one has said her name yet, but JK Rowling, 100%. Maybe no one else said her because they didn't want to seem stereotypical/expected, but JKR is my writing hero. Her writing has been picked apart by critics and the media, so we all know she has literary flaws (multiple adjectives, anyone?), but the world she created is so immersive and comforting, it feels like a small piece of home. Harry, Hermione, Ron, Snape, the Weasley twins, Molly, Arthur, Tonks, Lupin, Fleur... they will stick with me until the day I die. Reading her work makes me happy, and at the end of the day, what more can you ask for as an author?

I'm totally not a fangirl - I am far too aware of people's humanity and flaws and don't get really caught up in the celebrity thing - but if I met JK Rowling, I would burst into tears out of sheer happiness. Collaborating with her would - literally - be a dream come true. Though completely out of the realm of possibility, I think we would be a good collaboratory (not a word? Is now!) match because what I lack in imagination (which isn't to say I lack terribly, but compared to her...) she would make up for with hers, and I could strike a dozen (or ten dozen...) of those silly adjectives and replace them with stronger verbs!

And posted the contest in my sidebar (abbystevens.com)

PS - (Get ready for it...you may be shocked...) I haven't read any of the books in the 1st place prize pack and would love to get my hands on those books.

I'm getting in on the action! Um I would want to collaborate with Caren Lissner (Duh she wrote my favorite book!) or Sophie Kinsella because I haven't read a book by her yet that wasn't funny. Plus she's got the "smarts." She's a New York Times Best-selling Author and they've made a movie out of one of her books! PLUS she's british! I love everything British, including the people! :)

I'll add the word about your contest to my blog tomor :)

I would collaborate with Meg Cabot. But instead of writing a book, we would just hang out on her couch with her cat and watch television and goof off. However, I could film it in black and white with my video camera and then make it seem like a really cool indie documentary. It would be titled: "Tales From The Couch: The Meg Cabot and Jenna Worden Story". It would make a lot more money than any book would, anyway.

Even then, it could then be made into one of those movie-to-book companions after we win the Academy Award for Best Documentary.

My dreams are big, please don't crush them.

Thanks for the contest!

He isn't a YA author, but I'd love to collab with Jonathan Safran Foer. Because he. Is. The. Shiz.

He wrote Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, which is one of the most unique books I've ever read. His prose always has these distinct voices that break your heart in this subtle, 'oh' kind of way, and just listening to him talk about his IDEAS would make me happy.

Also THANKS for the contest! You guys are brilliant.
